Dr Prashanth Rao is an internationally recognised gastrointestinal and bariatric surgeon with more than 30 years of surgical experience. He is the director and senior consultant in the Department of General and Minimal Access Surgery at Gleneagles Hospital, Mumbai, where he specialises in advanced laparoscopic and keyhole procedures. Trained in India, France, and the UK, Dr Rao has worked alongside pioneers in laparoscopic surgery and has introduced innovative single-port and minimally invasive techniques in India. He is deeply committed to safe surgery, rapid recovery, and sharing knowledge as a teacher and international faculty member.
